David Pyatt is Patron of Watford Philharmonic Society and a world renowned Horn player. David is Principle Horn for London Philharmonic Orchestra as well as a popular soloist, performing at the BBC Proms and Edinburgh Festival. He is Professor of Horn at the Guildford School of music and the National Youth Orchestra. David’s support is much welcomed to the WPS. Read more about David here.

Handel at Watford Colosseum

Our Spring concert will feature Handel’s Alexander’s Feast. This lesser known work is full of drama and brilliantly written choruses. It describes a banquet held by Alexander the Great and his mistress Thais during which the musician Timotheus sings and plays his lyre arousing various moods in Alexander. Although it was traditional in Handel’s day to incorporate three additional concertos during the work, we will incorporate just one – his Harp Concerto Opus 4 No. 6.
