ADDITIONAL REHEARSAL TRACKS FOR THE MOZART CORONATION MASS
These tracks are generally sung by the soloists (not the choir), so are absent in the standard Choraline rehearsal tracks. For WPS virtual rehearsal purposes these tracks will be sung by the choir.
At this time of the year when the sun is setting on the summer, we would be busy preparing to return to a new Season of rehearsals and concerts with Watford Phil. The flyers and banner for the coming concert would be printed and I would be encouraging you to take them to spread the word and sell tickets. Oh how things change! The Colosseum will remain closed until next year and we await the results of various studies to show that it is, indeed, safe to congregate to make music together. We long to return to normal and the Committee is working hard to put into place arrangements to allow us to get back together again as soon as it is both safe and possible.
However, our new normal (for the time being)will be to resume our rehearsals via zoom next Monday 7th September at 7.30 pm. We shall be working on Mozart’s glorious Coronation Mass (Novello edition) and it is really important that we all use the same edition to enable Michael to run these rehearsals efficiently. If you wish to share this information with potential new recruits, please do and let Nikki, our Membership Secretary have their details.
If you haven’t already tried the zoom experience please do give it a go. We have a chance to meet and greet old friends as before – albeit in a different way – and Michael has devised an exciting programme to take us through this wonderful piece over the coming weeks. At the final rehearsal before the summer break, 70 members sang through most of the choruses of Messiah before sharing a glass of their favourite tipple. A very jolly experience and most importantly, we were all together again – if somewhat at a distance!
Hope to see you on Monday – same time, but in your place!
We need to keep safe, but importantly we need to keep singing
